MATH 7150: Fourier Analysis (Spring 2011)
Instructor: Camil Muscalu
The class will be an introduction to classical harmonic analysis. We plan to cover several fundamental topics such as Calderón-Zygmund theory of singular integrals, Littlewood-Paley square functions, Hardy-Littlewood maximal functions.
Then, we should also find some time to explain “the role of curvature” in Fourier analysis, connection to Kakeya sets, etc.
Some applications to PDE and number theory should also be discussed.
