MATH 7670 - Algebraic Geometry

This is a first course in algebraic geometry, for those who know the algebra in a first graduate algebra course. We will be following Ravi Vakil's book-to-be; I expect to do chapters I.2-IV, likely supplemented with toric varieties and possibly Gröbner bases.
