MATH 7520: Berstein Seminar in Topology (spring 2009)

We will discuss various topics in geometric group theory, including

1. quasi-isometry rigidity on Gromov hyperbolic spaces, and
2. asymptotic cones and buildings (as asymptotic cones of symmetric spaces and Euclidean buildings).

We will also cover some following topics from MATH 6180, Introduction to Ergodic Theory, related to dynamics of group actions on homogeneous spaces.
