MATH 7350 - Non-Archimedean and Tropical Geometry
Farbod Shokrieh, spring 2015.
There are several approaches to develop a theory of analytic spaces over non-Archimedean fields (e.g. the field of p-adic numbers, or the field of Puiseux series). We will study Berkovich's theory, and discuss some connections to Tropical Geometry. We also hope to give some applications.
The lectures should generally be accessible to all graduate students. Familiarity with the basic theory of schemes would be very helpful.
