Instructor: Alexander Bendikov
This is a first-year graduate course in Functional analysis with a stress to applications. Content of the course:
- Metric spaces; fixed point theorems.
- Normed vector spases and linear operators.
- Spectral theory of compact operators.
- Hilbert spaces and linear operators.
- Spectral theory of self-adjoint operators.
- Applications.
The course will be based on A. Friedman's book "Foundations of Modern Analysis".
