MATH 7390: Topics in Algebra: Etale cohomology (Fall 2010)

The aim of this year-long course is to cover enough etale cohomomolgy to understand the proofs of the first two (of the three) Weil Conjectures. I will mostly follow Milne’s book, though his online notes and Freitag & Kiehl may also be used. Familiarity with chapters 2 and 3 of Hartshorne is adequate prerequisite.
