This course is an introduction to commutative algebra. Topics covered will include: local rings, localization, integral extensions, Noether normalization, primary decomposition, dimension theory, Artinian rings, regular sequences, Grobner basis, graded rings, and Hilbert functions. This material is particularly useful to students with interests in commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and number theory.
